1K a year 3 days ago 3 days ago 3 days ago The Diocese of Rockville Centre is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant to work in the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis at the Chancery Office in Rockville Centre, NY.
This position is full time Monday-Friday 8:
30am-4:
30pm and reports to the Director of the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis.
Position
Summary:
The administrative assistant plays an essential role in the management of day-to-day operations in support of the mission of the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis.
You will be responsible for a wide range of administrative responsibilities requiring skills in administrative processes, policies and procedures.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Support the Director of the Office in assigned administrative duties.
Perform bookkeeping tasks including voucher and deposit processing, event summaries, credit card statements and other financial records.
Manage processing of all payroll related requirements for staff and per event employees Maintain employee files and all related documentation and payroll forms.
Monitor departmental expenditures.
Collaborate with departmental Diocesan staff in all matters requiring proper procedures for office paperwork flow.
Provide administrative support to ministries for meetings, events and other activities offered by the office.
Maintain complete and up to date office and project files.
Order and maintain office supplies.
Handle incoming and outgoing phone calls; direct all incoming calls to appropriate party promptly and efficiently.
Responsible for all other projects, tasks, etc.

Requirements:
Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the Catholic Church.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent communications, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Must always maintain appropriate confidentiality.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work as a team member with minimal supervision.
Three to five years' experience in an administrative role desired.
